Wegovy injection: the price essentials

SheMed’s advertised 0.25 mg first order is £79 on the monthly plan or £64 on the 12-month plan. These are different commitments, and neither figure confirms a repeat starting-dose price. [1]

The current Wegovy injection price table

This guide covers the weekly injectable form of Wegovy. SheMed also lists a daily tablet, which has a different dose range, routine and price table. If you are researching the oral medicine, use our Wegovy tablet guide instead.

Read the first row differently. The starting-dose figures below are introductory first-order prices. The other rows show the provider’s advertised figures for those doses on each selected plan. They do not tell you which dose you should take, or guarantee a repeat starting-dose price.

*The first dose row is an introductory first-order price. It is not a confirmed repeat price for remaining on that dose. Longer-plan prices depend on the selected commitment. SheMed labels this table “per month”; its programme information also refers to four-week billing. Confirm your payment frequency, repeat-dose price and total commitment before joining.

How the introductory offer changes the comparison

The first-order 0.25 mg price varies between the monthly, three-month, six-month and twelve-month columns. On the source tables checked for this guide, the other listed dose prices are the same across those four columns. This makes it especially important to compare the commitment as well as the introductory saving.

Identical later-dose rows do not mean every patient pays an identical total. Your prescribed dose, time at that dose, start date and payment schedule affect the actual cost. If the provider changes the table, the live figures above take priority over a general pattern described in this explanation.

What the plan columns mean

A monthly plan and a 12-month commitment are different agreements, even if both display a monthly price. A longer commitment may lower the displayed amount, but it can also limit how easily you leave. Do not multiply a headline price by twelve and call it an annual cost: the introductory rate may last for one order, your prescribed dose may change, and a four-week billing cycle has thirteen periods in a year.

Ask SheMed to confirm the amount of your next payment, the number of doses or tablets supplied, the repeat price if you stay on your starting dose, and any early-exit charge. Keep a copy of the checkout summary. Our plan-terms checklist explains the questions to resolve before committing.

Why the table includes 7.2 mg

Older Wegovy comparisons often stop at 2.4 mg. Current UK product information also includes a 7.2 mg option for certain adults with obesity, under prescribing supervision. It is not the default dose for everyone and it should not be generalised to adolescents or every other Wegovy indication.

SheMed’s public table lists that higher dose, which is why we include it in the price record. A published row does not independently confirm stock, the device that will be supplied or your suitability. Ask the provider how its supply corresponds to the prescribed dose and follow the specific device instructions you receive.

The medicine and the everyday routine

Wegovy injection contains semaglutide and is taken once weekly. It does not use the fasting routine of the tablet formulation. Even though both forms contain semaglutide, their milligram figures are not interchangeable. Switching formulation requires advice from the prescriber, not a calculation based on which row looks cheaper.

Planning for an injection also means understanding storage, travelling with the medicine and safe disposal. Check the supplied patient leaflet rather than relying on a generic online refrigeration rule. Tell the clinical team about other medicines, planned procedures involving anaesthesia or sedation, and pregnancy plans.

Where nutrition and support fit

Reduced appetite does not remove the need for nourishment. Our nutrition hub covers balanced meals, protein, hydration and when to seek help. The programme-support guide describes the support SheMed advertises and the details to confirm for your own plan.

Keep the clinical decision separate

Price is only one part of the decision. A prescriber needs your medical history, current medicines, pregnancy plans and any previous treatment experience. Never switch products, combine treatments, restart after a break or increase a dose using a price table. Contact the clinical team if side effects interfere with eating or drinking. Severe, persistent abdominal pain, especially pain spreading to the back, needs urgent medical attention.

The useful questions

Questions, answered.

Are Wegovy injection and tablet prices interchangeable?
No. They are different formulations with different dose ranges and routines. Compare the correct product table and discuss any change with your prescriber.
Is 7.2 mg suitable for everyone taking Wegovy?
No. Current UK product information limits that option to specific adult circumstances under clinical supervision. Its appearance in a price list does not establish eligibility.
