Wegovy tablets: the price essentials

SheMed’s advertised 1.5 mg first order is £89 on the monthly plan or £59 on the 12-month plan. These are different commitments, and neither figure confirms a repeat starting-dose price. [1]

The current Wegovy tablet price table

“Wegovy pill” is a common search term for the oral tablet formulation. SheMed lists 1.5 mg, 4 mg, 9 mg and 25 mg tablets. These are not equivalent to the same number of milligrams in an injection, and this table should not be used to plan a switch.

Read the first row differently. The starting-dose figures below are introductory first-order prices. The other rows show the provider’s advertised figures for those doses on each selected plan. They do not tell you which dose you should take, or guarantee a repeat starting-dose price.

*The first dose row is an introductory first-order price. It is not a confirmed repeat price for remaining on that dose. Longer-plan prices depend on the selected commitment. SheMed labels this table “per month”; its programme information also refers to four-week billing. Confirm your payment frequency, repeat-dose price and total commitment before joining.

Read the selected plan, not an isolated headline

The provider’s tablet page has shown different headline and footnote starting figures alongside its interactive table. We record the dose-and-plan cells from that table and identify their source, rather than treating an isolated “from” banner as a universal quote. Where those figures conflict, confirm the written checkout price and conditions with SheMed.

The introductory 1.5 mg row is only the first part of the cost picture. Later-dose rows have their own prices, and longer commitments may reduce those amounts too. That does not establish the price of a second order at the starting dose. Ask for that figure if it is relevant to your treatment plan.

What the plan columns mean

A monthly plan and a 12-month commitment are different agreements, even if both display a monthly price. A longer commitment may lower the displayed amount, but it can also limit how easily you leave. Do not multiply a headline price by twelve and call it an annual cost: the introductory rate may last for one order, your prescribed dose may change, and a four-week billing cycle has thirteen periods in a year.

Ask SheMed to confirm the amount of your next payment, the number of doses or tablets supplied, the repeat price if you stay on your starting dose, and any early-exit charge. Keep a copy of the checkout summary. Our plan-terms checklist explains the questions to resolve before committing.

Is the Wegovy tablet authorised in the UK?

The MHRA approved Wegovy tablets for adult weight management on 11 June 2026. Some older articles predate that decision and still describe an oral version as unavailable or not yet authorised. Regulatory authorisation, a provider listing, actual stock and NHS funding are separate questions; one does not automatically establish the others.

Wegovy tablets contain semaglutide, as the injection does, but have their own formulation and instructions. They should not be confused with Rybelsus or treated as a like-for-like substitute for another semaglutide product.

The morning routine matters

The UK tablet instructions require an empty stomach after at least eight hours of fasting. The tablet is swallowed whole with no more than 120 mL of water, followed by at least thirty minutes before food, drink or other oral medicines. This routine is a practical consideration to discuss if you take other morning medicines or have an irregular schedule.

Use the current leaflet and your prescriber’s directions for your own treatment. Do not change another medicine’s timing without advice. A daily tablet removes the injection step, but it does not remove the need for assessment, monitoring or careful use.

What belongs in your cost checklist

Confirm how many tablets each payment covers, when the next payment is taken, the agreed repeat price, and what support is included. Read our plan checklist alongside the table. If you are comparing oral options, our Foundayo guide explains a different active ingredient and routine without treating either product as the right choice for every reader.

Keep the clinical decision separate

Price is only one part of the decision. A prescriber needs your medical history, current medicines, pregnancy plans and any previous treatment experience. Never switch products, combine treatments, restart after a break or increase a dose using a price table. Contact the clinical team if side effects interfere with eating or drinking. Severe, persistent abdominal pain, especially pain spreading to the back, needs urgent medical attention.

The useful questions

Questions, answered.

Is “Wegovy pill” the same as a Wegovy injection?
No. Both contain semaglutide, but the tablet is a different formulation with a daily schedule and specific fasting instructions. Doses cannot be swapped milligram for milligram.
Why do some older pages say Wegovy tablets are not UK-approved?
The MHRA approval was announced on 11 June 2026. Older articles may predate that decision. Approval does not, by itself, confirm current provider stock, personal suitability or NHS access.
